Your comment about the "magic loop" caught my eye because I have been struggling with it myself and just can't seem to catch on. I love to knit with 4 needles, but use double pointed as often as I can, though I love the nickle plated and can't afford many. Right now I am furiously trying to finish a scarf for son number 2 on a pair. Keep up the great work! I love your blog. I hate to tell you what I think it looks like... very creative. I also knit and I am knitting my first pair of socks, 2 on one circular needle, I think you referred to it as the "magic loop"? I will be felting these to make slippers for my toddler son. I am a novice knitter, but I am coming to know what you are talking about regarding acrylic yarn feeling like plastic, though for financial reasons, that is mostly what I work with. The slippers will be made from recycled shetland wool from a sweater and I love how that is feeling. As you can see, this project is a first for me in so many areas, and I am very excited to see how they come out. Debbie I came over to see your blog because I love your avatar! I'm sure that the last thing that you want to hear is another opinion about what might be ailing you, so I'll leave that to your parents :). Anywho, I wanted to say thank you for the kind words about the coffee that you've tried from Larry's. If you're still based out of Carrboro and have the time, you're more than welcome to come visit us in your free time (granted, there's less of it now). Maybe we can try a few coffees that I've roasted to see what fits your tastes best. I think that my e-mail is attached to the post here, and the number is on our website. Either way works out for me. And... yeah... good decision on your dad's socks. Some people ;). Get better soon! Peter Allen - Head Roaster, Larry's Beans Hey there,
